2008 Finals Brief Review-drumlines

Post by rysa4 » Sat Aug 09, 2008 9:22 pm

Hey- more soon. Enjoyed meeting Jim and Company as well.

1. Phantom- clearly wins drums. Clean and technically complex writing.
2. Bluecoats- excellen pit-brass-field drums balance and well played too. Fun line.
3. Cadets- absolutely smoked their show. The judges are on drugs on this one. Writing and performance way out in front of the rest below.
4. Blue Devils- a bit of an off night. Missed may attacks. Snare line book not difficult.
5. Cavies- like th pit percussion. Relies more on Quads than snares. Weak snare line and writing.
6. SCV- very challenging technical writing. lots of ticks/inconsistencies.
7. Crown- a bad night and nothing notable going on in drums.

More soon!

Awesome. I love reading your comments on percussion: since I'm a brass guy, that's not my strongest area of knowledge.
