Re: This May Be A First...

I had jury duty in May. My number had even been called in the first 12, so I was set to get in the box right off the bat! But in the 5 minutes between that happening and them sending the bailiff down to get us a plea agreement was reached and I was allowed to go home. I didn't have the foresight to ...

1995 DATR

Does anyone remember what venue hosted Drums Along the Rockies in 1995? I went that year and know it was at a Denver area high school since Mile High Stadium was booked for something else, but can't remember which high school.

Re: DCI squeezes for every last drop - Championship Tix

I saw something on their FAQ saying that boxes were not being sold to the public. Sure would be a suite idea though! 8-) I'd pitch in.

Re: DCI squeezes for every last drop - Championship Tix

That's another peeve of mine. If they need extra money for "adminstration and processing", include it in the price of the ticket!! Unless there is a place where I can buy the ticket without that fee, it should be in the advertised ticket price.

DCI squeezes for every last drop - Championship Tix

This is just getting rediculous. Now Super Premium isn't enough. If you want not only the very best seats in the house, but just good seats, you have to become a friend of DCI. 12 sections of Lucas Oil Stadium are blocked off for "friends only" next summer. Nothing less than a $100 membership will d...

Re: Parking downtown Indpls

Like Luvah said, metered parking is free after 6 on weekdays and free on Saturday and Sunday. There is parking at Lucas itself and I believe is also $20. I found a couple other garages downtown that have $10 event parking and/or max daily rates of $15 or less. They're a little further of a walk, but...

Re: Guess who's going to DCI Finals!!

I typically park at the Circle Center Mall garage (World of Wonders garage - entrances off Maryland and Illinois) when I go down there. It's real convenient to all the main shopping, eating, and drinking establishments and just a short walk from Lucas. It was actually quite convenient in the old dom...

Re: SCV/Crown opinion Poll

So where's the option for Crown will finish top 3 AND SCV will pass them? Seriously though, I voted Crown ahead of Vanguard. I am (pleasantly) surprised that the judges are rewarding this type of show from Vanguard, but in the end I think they will revert to their recent trends of rewarding ve...

You know, the plus side to all the synthesizers??? Not as much talking! (Granted, I've only seen a small handful of shows so far, but none have used amplified voice.)

The Power

I don't necessarily agree with all the rule changes lately....... but damn it if I don't have drum corps fever something fierce right now! It's not so much about the rules as it is about the precision, the intensity, the professionalism. Wow. That is all.

Re: Reviews?

I went to Decatur but haven't had time to write in depth thoughts. What I CAN say in a few sentences or less is that Crown is the real deal. Electronics are a mixed bag. And I still like drum corps, a lot. Despite the changes. I gotta agree with Sparty though about the "cheatiness" of the bass synth...
